Archaeologists Unearthed the First Pope In History. What They Found Proved Something Incredible

The mummy of Pope St. Pius I is one of the best preserved in the history of mankind. His corpse was not embalmed it was mummified naturally for a period of about 1,700 years.

His remains are considered a true discovery for science, because even though during life he suffered from cardiovascular diseases, gallstones, gout, diabetes, caries and tuberculosis, these organs preserved very well.

This bishop is considered as the first official Pope. He was born in Aquileia, Italy. And he died in 155, to be buried in the beautiful cathedral of Aquileia.

Much later, in the year 1789 the building of the cathedral was demolished. The coffin of the Pope was opened and everyone was surprised by the fact that the body was in perfect condition. Finally the body was transferred to a chapel in the year 1875.

Studies say there are several reasons why the body has been preserved in such a good way. First, because he was naturally mummified thanks to the air between the months of November and December, which are the coldest of the year and because of the large amount of plants and humidity inside the crypt.

But until 2010 scientists had no possibility to study the remains carefully.
The coffin’s pillow and mattress were filled with plants and vegetables that gave off a strong smell, probably to hide the smell of the corpse, but also to preserve it. There were lavender, mint, hops and juniper berries. ”

However, the most surprising thing was that they found a plenty of documents narrating different versions of the alleged life of the son of God, Jesus of Nazareth.

The discovery suggests that senior leaders of the Catholic Church hid the evidence that proves that the history of the Messiah was only an invention to carry out the purposes of the order.

Among the documents could be found the stories of hundreds of prophets who had a life very similar to that of Christ, among which stand out the figures of Horus, Mithra, Krishna, Dionysius, etc.

After the find, a large number of versions about what actually happened with Jesus has emerged. Science, on the other hand, claims that there is evidence to prove the existence of Jesus the man, but not as the life of the supposed son of God, that the narrative created from the life of other prophets and different cultures of the world.

Eucharistic Miracles: Can Science Prove Faith?

By: Alexandria Addesso

Over 2,000 years ago thirteen men sat down to have a meal around the time of the Jewish Passover. At this supper the bread and wine was blessed as was their custom, but the bread was declared the true Body and the wine was declared the true Blood of the man that was saying the blessing, a man though considered fully human was also believed to be fully God. With this declaration also came the stance that whoever believed and consumed this meal would have eternal life, yet this teaching was so hard to understand that many stopped believing and following Him after it.

The next three centuries those who still celebrated this meal, then commonly known as Christians or followers of the Way, were deemed cannibals for such beliefs and many were killed. Over 1400 years after that initial supper, although this belief flourished into an organized religion and was now accepted among many people, a disgruntled monk disbelieved and started what is now known as the Protestant Reformation. And thus today there are over 40,000 Protestant denominations who also do not believe that the bread and wine truly becomes the Flesh and Blood of Christ, but instead only a mere symbol of it.

Yet, what happens when science intersects faith? Can science ratify or disprove religious beliefs or are the two fields too different to even be spoken about in the same breathe without starting arguments on both ends? When a Catholic (or Orthodox for that matter but the theology differs only very slightly) priest says the words of consecration over the bread and wine it is believed that transubstantiation occurs, that the bread and wine become true Flesh and Blood. But the accidents, the wine and bread, appear the same as they did before the consecration. This is the true for most Masses, but there have been 140 Vatican approved Eucharistic Miracles, when the accidents literally became Flesh and Blood verified by objective science.

The first such recorded miracle of this sort took place in the 8th century in what is now known as Lanciano, Italy. A monk, who was struggling with his own personal belief in the True Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, was saying Mass at the Church of St.
Legontian. After the consecration the host became Flesh and the wine physical Blood that coagulated into five globules differing in shape and size. It was stored, never deteriorated and multiple ecclesial investigations have been done on it throughout the centuries. The latest scientific investigation took place in 1981 by scientist and Professor in Anatomy, Pathological Histology, Chemistry and Clinical Microscopy, Odoardo Linoli with the assistance of Prof. Ruggero Bertelli of the University of Siena. Their findings discovered that the Flesh contained myocardium, the endocardium, the vagus nerve and also the left ventricle of the heart for the large thickness of the myocardium. The Blood was type AB positive and contained proteins only found fresh blood.

One of the most recently verified Eucharistic miracles took place in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1996. After Mass was said at Santa Maria y Caballito Almagro Iglesia, a woman informed the priest that a defiled host was discarded in one of the candleholders. Upon finding it the priest placed it in a container of water, which is the protocol when finding a consecrated host unless you are able to immediately consume it then placed it in the tabernacle. About a week later when the tabernacle was opened the host had turned into a bloody substance. The local cardinal, Jorge Bergoglio who is now known as Pope Francis, directed that it should be professionally photographed.

The host sat in the tabernacle for three years with no visible sign of deterioration before Bergoglio ordered for it to undergo scientific testing. The sample was sent to the San Francisco Forensic Institute, and to keep the study completely unbiased none of the scientific team was told where the sample came from. After testing it was discovered that the Flesh was heart tissue and the blood was type AB positive with DNA features of that of a man from the Middle East. Upon further research the DNA matched that of the sample from Lancing.

“The analyzed material is a fragment of the heart muscle found in the wall of the left ventricle close to the valves. This muscle is responsible for the contraction of the heart. It should be borne in mind that the left cardiac ventricle pumps blood to all parts of the body. The heart muscle is in an inflammatory condition and contains a large number of white blood cells. It is my contention that the heart was alive, since white blood cells die outside a living organism. They require a living organism to sustain them.

Thus, their presence indicates that the heart was alive when the sample was taken. What is more, these white blood cells had penetrated the tissue, which further indicates that the heart had been under severe stress, as if the owner had been beaten severely about the chest,” testified Dr. Frederick Zugibe, cardiologist and forensic pathologist from University of Columbia in New York.

While these are just two of the 140 known verified Eucharistic Miracles, there are a number of disproven ones as well. Quite often bacteria on hosts can cause a red fungus that may have a blood-like look to it. This is what happened in December 2015 at a church in Kearns, Utah. After simple tests by a biologist that bacteria was verified as the culprit. Every investigation is addressed with reverential prudence as well as skepticism until proven otherwise.

For those who live and die by empirical scientific evidence, what happens when such evidence is used to prove what they had always shook their fists at? Does one lose faith in science or gain faith in something else? Keep an open mind.

SCIENCE CLOSER TO EXPLAINING THE ORIGINS OF LIFE

Chemists believe that they may have found how reactions on early Earth may have given rise to molecules vital for genetics and energy metabolism.

The molecular dance that led to the origin of life billions of years ago remains one of the deepest mysteries in modern science. Although the exact choreography is forever lost to time, scientists now say that they may have identified one of the key steps. Chemists in Germany today reported a plausible way in which basic chemicals available on early Earth may have given rise to compounds called purines, which are:

"Natural substances found in all cell bodies, and in virtually all foods, purines provide part of the chemical structure of our genes and genes of plants and animals. A relative small number of meals, however, contain concentrated amounts of purines. In most, these foods high in purines foods are also high in protein. Purines are a key ingredient of DNA, RNA and energy metabolism in our cells."

The new work is “very pretty chemistry”, says Gerald Joyce, a chemist at the Scripps Research Institute in San Diego, California. Joyce specializes in the chemistry that may have given rise to life.

Joyce along with others have long suggested that one of the key early events in this process was the formation of RNA; a long chainlike molecule that conveys genetic information, and speeds up other chemical reactions. Both of those functions were necessary for life to evolve. However, sorting out how RNA itself may have arisen, and led to an “RNA world” that has certainly been a struggle.

RNA is made up of four different chemical building blocks which are the following; adenine (A), guanine (G), cytosine (C), and uracil (U). Seven years ago, researchers led by the U.K. chemist John Sutherland showed a plausible series of steps by which chemical reactions on early Earth could have synthesized cytosine and uracil, also known as pyrimidines. However, this route hasn’t been shown to give rise to adenine or guanine which are RNA’s purine building blocks. Others partially succeeded in the purine quest.

In 1972, the U.K. chemist Leslie Orgel along with his colleagues suggested one possible route for purine formation on early Earth. This never seemed all that plausible, says Thomas Carell, a chemist at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich in Germany. That’s in part due to the process producing only tiny amounts of the purines that are so vital for life.

“People have been looking for synthetic routes to making purines for 40 years,” Carell says.

Carell and his colleagues stumbled upon a new lead several years ago, when they were studying how DNA is damaged. DNA is very similar to RNA except for that uracil is replaced with thymine. The group was studying how a molecule called formamidopyrimidine (FaPy) reacts with DNA, and found that it also readily reacts to form purines. Consequently, they decided to look into whether early Earth conditions could have given rise to FaPys, and thus, purines.

The first step was easy as it only requires hydrogen, cyanide, and water. Hydrogen cyanide, a simple molecule containing only three atoms ( Hydrogen, Nitrogen, and Carbon) is widely believed to have been abundant on early Earth. This molecule readily reacts in water (also thought to be plentiful at the time) to form one class of molecules called aminopyrimidines, which contains several chemical groups called amines. Normally, these amines react indiscriminately to form a wide mix of different compounds. That’s a bad thing in this case, Carell explains, because most of those products wouldn’t be purines.

Carell needed to find a way to stop all but one critical amine from reacting. “Initially I thought this would never work,” Carell says. However, the solution, he says, was far simpler than he expected. When Carell’s team spiked their solution with just a bit of a certain acid, (also widely considered abundant on early Earth) the reaction caused an extra proton from the acid to attach to the aminopyrimidine. That extra proton killed the reactivity of all but one of the amine groups on the molecule. Subsequently, much to Carell’s delight, the lone amine that stayed reactive was precisely the one that reacts to form a purine.

But wait, that’s not all. Further lab results presented today in Science show that the reactive amine on the aminopyrimidine readily bonds with either formic acid or formamide. Last year, the Rosetta space probe detected both of those chemicals on a comet, and now scientists think that they also probably rained down on early Earth. Once the bonds have formed, products of those reactions then eagerly react with sugars to create large quantities of purines. “It’s like a domino cascade,” Carell says.

Mic drop? Not so fast, says Steven Benner, a chemist and origin of life expert at the Foundation for Applied Molecular Evolution in Alachua, Florida. Benner agrees that the newly suggested purine synthesis is a “major step forward” for the field. But even if it is correct, he says, the chemical conditions that gave rise to the purines still don’t match those that Sutherland’s group suggests may have led to the pyrimidines. So just how A’s, G’s, C’s, and U’s would have ended up together has yet to be elucidated. Also, even if all the RNA bases were in the same place at the same time, it’s still not obvious what drove the bases to link up to form full-fledged RNAs, Benner says.

We’re here, so as a result, it must have happened somehow. But, RNA-world researchers still need to line up a few more dominoes before one of the greatest mysteries of life will be truly solved.

Your brain is your only God

A team of neurotheology researchers have replicated and confirmed the results of the iconic “God Helmet” experiment. The apparatus, originally developed by renowned neuroscientists, Stanley Koren and Michael Persinger, generates weak magnetic fields around the test subject’s temporal lobes, and elicits a distinct set of experiential phenomena in the participant’s brain, including: altered mystic states, visions of God, and the feeling of a sensed God-like presence. This new independent study confirms that the effects from the God Helmet experiment are not due to suggestion or suggestibility in subjects, and provide the first scientific verification of the technique’s direct influence on the brain. 80% had feelings of a “sensed presence”, and the other 20% had either minor effects or none.

The authors of the study, which was published in the Journal Of Consciousness Exploration and Research, write, “The God Helmet places four magnetic coils on each side of the head, above the temporal lobes. Some subjects exposed to these fields reported having ‘spiritual experiences’ during our tests. These subjects included atheists, as well as religious believers. 80% of the subjects reported the ‘presence’ of ‘nonphysical beings’ in the room where the experiments were conducted, including the ‘presence of God’ in a small number of subjects.”

“Thus far, about 20 or so people have reported feeling the presence of Christ or even seeing him in the chamber (The acoustic chamber where the experimental sessions took place),” says Koren in a recent interview. “Most of these people used Christ and God interchangeably. Most of these individuals were older (30 years or more) and religious (Roman Catholic). One male, age about 35-years-old (alleged atheist but early childhood Roman Catholic training), saw a clear apparition (shoulders and head) of Christ staring him in the face. He was quite ‘shaken’ by the experience. I did not complete a follow-up re: his change in behavior. [What] we did find with one world-class psychic, who experiences Christ as a component of his abilities, was we could experimentally increase or decrease his numbers of his reported experiences by applying the LTP pattern (derived from the hippocampus) over the right hemisphere (without his awareness). The field on-response delay was about 10 to 20 sec. The optimal pattern, at least for this person, looked very right hippocampal. By far most presences are attributed to dead relatives, the Great Forces, a spirit, or something equivalent. The attribution towards along a devil to angel continuum appears strongly related to the affect (pleasant-terror) associated with the experience. I suspect most people would call the ‘vague, all-around-me’ sensations ‘God’ but they are reluctant to employ the label in a laboratory. The implicit is obvious. If the equipment and the experiment produced the presence that was God, then the extrapersonal, unreachable and independent characteristics of the god definition might be challenged.”
